About IAFF Local 244

The Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters, IAFF Local 244 consists of approximately 900 full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics from both Albuquerque Fire & Rescue & Bernalillo County Fire & Rescue. Our main purpose is to promote public safety and trust while ensuring the safety and well being of our firefighters.

Through collaboration, community involvement and political action, the Albuquerque Area Fire Fighters have worked to ensure the highest level of Emergency services in New Mexico. Our Fire Fighters truly care about the communities we serve and have always sought to partner with the community and our officials to provide a high level of service while we also protect and enhance Fire Fighter interests.
