About the St. Albert Firefighters

Welcome to the webpage for St Albert Firefighters Local 2130. We are proud members of the International Association of Firefighters. The IAFF is the driving force behind nearly every advance in the fire and emergency services in the 21st century. With headquarters in Washington, DC, and Ottawa, Ontario, the IAFF represents more than 305,000 full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics in more than 3,200 affiliates. IAFF members protect more than 85 percent of the population in communities throughout the United States and Canada. The IAFF is also one of the most active lobbying organizations in Washington, DC. The IAFF Political Action Committee, FIREPAC, is among the top one-half of one percent of the nearly 6,000 federally registered PACs in the country.

Running out of 3 Stations we provide 24/365 Fire and EMS response to the citizens of St Albert with a minimum of 18 Emergency Services Personnel, 1 Platoon Chief and 1 Dispatcher on duty we are able to provide quick response in time of emergency.

While not all emergency calls are fires our members are cross trained as Primary and Advanced Care Paramedics that work on the 2 Ambulances the City of St Albert contracts to Alberta Health Services. When a fire truck shows up to a medical call these members are also able to provide a high level of medical care as well with all Fire Engines equipped to Advanced Life Support standards.

We are also trained in Water and Ice Rescue, Dangerous Goods response. We provide public education and fire prevention to the public as well.
