Gord Mason who was celebrated this past Friday at the Tavern Downtown. Brother Mason now transfers to 5 platoon having diligently served the citizens of Winnipeg for over 30 years.

Last night at The King’s Head Pub we celebrated retiring Captain Wayne King Reg#1483.

In front of a packed house filled with friends & family and hosted by retired brother
Ron St. Mars, Brother King transferred to 5 platoon having served with the WFD for over 31 years.

We now wish Wayne a well-earned long and healthy retirement.

Earlier this week UFFW was proud to partner with the Never Alone Cancer Foundation when hosting our 45th Annual Banquet & Ball.

Joe passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024

He joined the Winnipeg Fire Department on

September 1, 1967

On April 22, 1990, Joe became a Fire Prevention Officer.

Joe retired on January 19, 1997,

after 29 years and 4 months of service.

 

A small memorial service will be held on

Thursday, April 4, 2024 in Osoyoos, B.C.

The family will have the burial service for Joe’s ashes

in Winnipeg, at a later date.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life for Joe

On Saturday, July 6, 2024, at noon

At 500 Widlake Street, Transcona.

The Samson family is saddened to announce the passing of Gary Dean Samson on February 4, 2024, at the age of 55. 

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Marvin was a proud firefighter with the City of Winnipeg, having served 34 years and retiring in 1992. He served as a Lieutenant for four years and was promoted to Captain for the last four years of his career.

Congratulations to the Manitoba Motorcycle Ride For Dad riders and event organizers on your 16th Annual Motorcycle Ride For Dad this past weekend.

Hundreds of riders braved the elements to ride and raise funds & awareness for prostate cancer awareness and research in Manitoba. Outstanding effort!

UFFW was proudly in full force at the Goldeyes Blue Cross Park with team “JEFF BRUCE” once again this weekend supporting the Cerebral Palsy Association of Manitoba Stationary Bike Race.

It was a great day for a great cause.
